Your Daily Devotional

Gentle of heart.

" But The Meek shall inherit the earth,
and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."
this from David, i submit, a warrior king, a man of great strength of hand , power...yet, a man After GOD's own Heart...
.. he declares the place of his heart is in meekness...humbly reliant on The LORD GOD...yet ever wrestling with the pride and lures of the flesh...is that us?
We define meek as "strength under control " couched in gentleness, patience...
with reliance on GOD..God's authority...HIS Just Power.
It is pride that tarnishes, misuses strength in The WAY..
it diverts it to reliance of the prowess of self, does it not?
" stand aside Lord,
i got this one "
But, Beloved, throughout the Counsel of GOD...we find meekness...
its a gift of The SPIRIT (Gal 5: 22-26)!
to walk humbly in the Sight of The LORD..IS A VIRTUE !.. of great understanding...of great price...value of heart..great strength.
" The Meek will HE guide in judgement,
the Meek will HE teach HIS WAY. "
to ..to not be "sons of thunder" in judgement and self-righteousness..but
".. let it be the hidden man of the heart,
in that which is not corruptible,
* even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit *,
which is in the sight of GOD of great price."
Think on these things...
JESUS declares :
" Blessed are the Meek ,
for they shall inherit the earth."
WHO better to see this SPIRIT but in the ministry of JESUS CHRIST-GOD ..
" who being in the firm of GOD,
did not consider it robbery to be egual with GOD,
BUT, made HIMSELF of no reputation,
taking the form of a bond servant,
and coming in the likeness of men,
...HE humbled HIMSELF even to the point of death,
even death on the cross ".
Omnipotent, humble ,"strength under control " yielded our Salvation!
The meek inherit...

Calvary Chapel was formed as a fellowship of believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We are a welcoming church where you will find in-depth teaching and friendly people.
