About Us

Our History

Calvary Chapel Rock Hill began in 2003 as a home fellowship in the living room of Pastor Dennis, with his family and two other families. God blessed us with several building locations in the Rock Hill area until we moved into our present location in 2018. We are excited to see God answering our prayers and growing us both spiritually and physically. He has given us the privilege to serve our community and minister the love of our Lord Jesus to the hurting, the lost, and those needing encouragement.

Our supreme goal is to know God, and to come into the presence of the Creator of the Universe with worship and praise. We endeavor to discover His truth and learn of His grace through His Word. We seek to discover God’s will and guidance for each of our lives by worshiping Him through prayer, inspirational music, and a systematic in-depth study of God’s Word. Here at Calvary Chapel, we seek to obey the Biblical model found in Galatians 3:28 where believers worship the Lord together in unity. We are excited to see lives transformed and people drawing closer to the Lord as they discover their unique calling through studying God’s word verse by verse.

What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30).

We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15); His atoning death and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:3-4); and His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19).

We believe that all are justified on the single ground of faith, in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God’s grace, through faith alone, are we saved (Ephesians 2:8-10).

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are not unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13-14).

We believe that scripture is notated as a paraphrasing of the original work.

We believe worship of God should be spiritual. Therefore, we remain flexible and yielding to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.

We believe worship of God should be inspirational. Therefore, we give a great place to music in our worship.

We believe worship of God should be intelligent. Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis on teaching the Word of God, that He might instruct us in how He should be worshiped.

We believe worship of God is fruitful. Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him.
